We are seeking experienced Core Routing Network Engineers to deliver WAN, PoP, hosting, and site core networking infrastructure as part of a large-scale corporate divestiture programme. The role is responsible for designing, building, and migrating Layer 3 core network services - including WAN replacement, new PoP build-outs, hosting interconnects, site core routing, and multicast - while simultaneously performing configuration cleanup on divested-entity infrastructure ahead of Day 1.
The successful candidate will work across multiple site environments and technologies, delivering routing and switching changes at pace through both manual and automated methods, collaborating closely with the automation and tooling team, security workstream, and platform/identity teams.
Key Responsibilities
- WAN & PoP Build-Out
- Design and build new PoP infrastructure including colocation procurement, rack and stack, and initial configuration
- Configure perimeter security integration (Palo Alto) at new PoP locations
- Establish internet edge connectivity including Zscaler GRE tunnel integration
- Configure SD-WAN termination at new PoPs
- Implement RP/BSR for multicast topology
- Configure NTP distribution from new PoP infrastructure
- Establish cloud termination connectivity (AWS Direct Connect or equivalent)
- Integrate third-party and partner connectivity as required by the business
- Configure telephony integration (SBC) in coordination with the collaboration workstream
- Configure Nexus NX-OS environments for data centre interconnect and hosting services
- Support hosting network separation for co-located environments
- Site Core Networking - Retained Entity Build
- Deploy recent L3 core switches and integrate with the recent WAN across multiple sites
- Migrate production distribution networks (storage, media production, transcoding) into new routing domains
- Establish new point-to-point links between sites
- Support Procurement/PM in organising novation of existing circuits and SD-WAN
