Position Title: Buyer Contract Cell (Commercial Service Contracts)
Grade / Designation Level: Deputy Manager to Manager
Experience: 1. 3-5 years for Civil 2. 5-10 Years for Mech/Elect
Educational Qualification: 1. B.Tech (Civil) 2. B.Tech (Mechanical / Electrical)
Position Summary The Commercial Buyer in the Service Contract Cell manages the end-to-end procurement process for operational, technical, and commercial service contracts. This role ensures timely onboarding of reliable service providers, optimal cost management through thorough financial and technical evaluations, and seamless alignment between internal user departments and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities & Core Functions
- Sourcing & RFP Management: Draft RFQs/RFIs based on scope of work (SOW) received from internal teams, float tenders, invite competitive technical/commercial bids, and coordinate pre-bid queries.
- Commercial Negotiation: Conduct multi-round technical and commercial negotiations with prospective vendors to secure competitive pricing, optimal payment terms, SLAs, and risk-mitigated contract clauses.
- Documentation & Approval Workflow: Making comparative statements, perform price discovery, draft Note for Approvals (NFAs) for management review, and issue formalized Work Orders (WOs).
- Cost & Financial Analysis: Conduct internal cost benchmarking, should-cost modeling, and zero-based budgeting to evaluate proposal fairness against market trends and historical spend data.
- Supplier Performance & Data Analytics: Track supplier performance metrics, analyze compliance against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and evaluate service provider renewal/continuation criteria.
- Vendor Onboarding & Strategic Development: Identify new potential service providers, manage supplier registration, perform due diligence (financial health, statutory compliance,
technical capability), and build a resilient vendor database.
