Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team at Anil Neuro And Trauma Centre. The consultant will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with a broad range of psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions, while working closely with neurologists, physicians, and nursing teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including:
- Mood and anxiety disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- Substance use disorders
- Organic mental disorders
- Provide psychiatric consultation and liaison services for neuro and trauma inpatients.
- Manage neuropsychiatric presentations, including delirium, post-stroke depression, and other psychiatric complications associated with neurological conditions.
- Prescribe, initiate, and monitor appropriate pharmacological treatments.
- Recommend psychotherapy, counselling, and specialist referrals whenever clinically appropriate.




- Assess and manage psychiatric emergencies, including suicide and self-harm risk assessment.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and comply with applicable medico-legal and institutional protocols.
- Collaborate with neurologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in the management of shared cases.
- Provide patient and family counselling with empathy, sensitivity, and strict confidentiality.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and contribute to continuity of patient care.
- Maintain qualified standards and stay updated with current psychiatric treatment guidelines and practices.

Candidate Profile
- MBBS with MD/DNB in Psychiatry or equivalent recognized qualification.
- 1–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage psychiatric emergencies and complex neuropsychiatric cases.
- Compassionate, ethical, and patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
