Job Title: Construction Manager

Location: Project Site (Mumbai / Bengaluru / PAN India as required)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Construction Manager to lead and manage end-to-end construction activities at project sites. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience working with reputed contractors, EPC organizations, industrial projects, or international construction environments and possess a strong understanding of construction methodologies, productivity management, labour efficiency, equipment utilization, quality systems, cost control, and project execution.

The Construction Manager shall be responsible for delivering projects safely, within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards while maximizing labour and equipment productivity.

Key Responsibilities

A. Construction Execution & Site Management

- Lead day-to-day construction activities and ensure smooth site execution.
- Develop and implement construction methodologies, work sequences, and execution strategies.
- Ensure execution is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, standards, and project requirements.
- Drive timely completion of project milestones and overall project delivery.
- Coordinate multiple agencies, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Resolve construction bottlenecks and site challenges proactively.

B. Labour Productivity & Resource Management
- Plan and optimize labour deployment across various work fronts.
- Establish productivity benchmarks for all construction activities.
- Monitor labour efficiency and productivity on a daily basis.
- Identify productivity losses and implement corrective measures.
- Prepare and monitor labour deployment plans and manpower histograms.
- Ensure effective utilization of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workforce.
- Manage subcontractors and labour contractors to achieve planned outputs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site productivity.

C. Equipment Planning & Utilization
- Plan equipment requirements based on project schedules and work fronts.
- Monitor equipment productivity, utilization, and downtime.
- Optimize deployment of cranes, excavators, batching plants, pumps, compressors, lifting equipment, and construction machinery.
- Analyze equipment efficiency and recommend improvements.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and operational readiness of equipment.

D. Material Planning & Consumption Control
- Prepare material requirement plans based on construction schedules.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores teams for timely availability of materials.




- Monitor material consumption against budgeted quantities.
- Analyze wastage and implement measures to reduce material losses.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and inventory management of construction materials.
- Review reconciliation reports for steel, concrete, blockwork, finishing materials, and other major resources.

E. Cost Management & Budget Control
- Monitor construction costs against approved budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety.
- Track productivity-related costs and resource utilization.
- Review subcontractor performance and commercial implications.
- Participate in forecasting, budgeting, and cost-control exercises.
- Support preparation of management reports highlighting project financial performance.

F. Drawing Management & Technical Coordination
- Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, and construction details.
- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, and project management teams.
- Identify design conflicts and ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure construction teams are working with the latest approved drawings.
- Participate in design coordination and technical review meetings.

G. Quality Management
- Implement project quality assurance and quality control systems.
- Ensure compliance with approved specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Monitor inspection and testing activities.
- Drive first-time-right execution practices.
- Minimize rework through effective planning and supervision.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspections, approvals, and quality records.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and root-cause analysis of defects.

H. Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Coordinate with planning teams to develop detailed execution plans.
- Monitor project progress against baseline schedules.
- Identify delays and implement recovery plans.
- Participate in look-ahead planning and resource planning meetings.
- Ensure alignment between construction activities and project milestones.

I. Safety Leadership
- Promote a strong safety culture across the project.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE requirements and statutory regulations.
- Conduct site inspections and safety reviews.
- Support implementation of secure work practices and permit systems.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.

J. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management




- Lead multidisciplinary construction teams.
- Mentor site engineers, supervisors, and construction staff.
- Conduct regular progress review meetings with contractors and consultants.
- Build collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Drive accountability and performance across all site teams.

- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering

Experience
- Minimum 1220 Years of Construction Experience.
- Experience with reputed contractors, EPC companies, industrial projects, data centers, manufacturing facilities, commercial developments, institutional projects, or international projects preferred.
- Proven experience managing large-scale projects independently.
