- Head of Compliance - Job responsibilities:

1. Ensuring that the Business Activities and Operations at IBU GIFT City Branch is in Compliance with Home and Host Country regulations.
2. To act as a focal point of contact between the Branch, Bank and International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) and maintain effective liaisoning with the IFSCA on all regulatory matters including supervisory inspections.
3. Dissemination of Compliance Requirements / Monitoring Compliance with the Regulatory guidelines / Instructions

- Incorporate a robust mechanism to ensure that regulatory guidelines/instructions are promptly issued/ disseminated within the organization.
- Review the internal circulars / instructions issued for compliance with the regulatory guidelines before these are disseminated amongst the operational units.
- Incorporate a robust mechanism to monitor compliance with the regulatory guidelines/ instructions.
- Formulation of Annual Compliance Testing Plan and conducts compliance reviews to validate compliance with important regulatory guidelines
- Serve as a reference point for the banks staff from operational departments for seeking clarifications/ interpretations of various regulatory and statutory guidelines.

- Propose appropriate compliance risk related rules into internal Compliance standards, procedures and guidelines and to ensure that new regulatory requirements are duly incorporated into the procedures followed by the business units.
- In case of new regulations, the compliance officer must assess the appropriateness of the banks compliance procedures and guidelines, promptly follow-up on compliance with any identified deficiencies, and, where necessary, formulate proposals for amendments in the existing process / policy to ensure compliance with the new regulations

1. Risk identification and assessment





- Identification and prioritization of potential areas of compliance risk which may damage the banks reputation, legal or regulatory sanctions, or financial loss.

1. Risk mitigation including standards, procedures and guidelines

- Development and implementation of risk mitigating measures, including explicit standards, procedures and guidelines, to prevent, mitigate or minimize (important) compliance risks and to detect, report and respond to compliance violations.

1. Risk Monitoring

- On-going monitoring of the adherence to the Compliance Policy and its minimum standards, and applicable legal and regulatory standards, and assisting in enforcement as needed.

1. Incidents management

- Reporting of and responding to compliance incidents and initiating appropriate management action.
- Assisting the business / operations teams at the time of onsite inspection undertaken by the regulatory authorities.
- Reporting to the Audit Committee / Board about incidences of noncompliance and submission of various reports for its review.

1. Regulatory Reporting

- Monitoring and ensuring submission of prescribed Regulatory returns to the Regulators within the prescribed timelines post performing sanity checks.

1. Training and education

- Ensure that appropriate regulatory / compliance requirements form part of training programs of business units
- To promote an appropriate compliance culture awareness and understanding

1. Monitoring Compliance

- Monitoring the compliance with the Acts, rules and regulations, notifications, guidelines, instructions etc., issued by the Regulators/ Government Authorities.





- Tracking of compliance to the findings of Regulatory inspections, management-initiated actions and actions arising from Compliance Framework activities

1. Advisory

- Proactive in advising to the Management and employees with respect to any compliance risks
- Implementation of the Compliance Policy and minimum standards
- Proactive assistance to and support of Management with driving the day-to-day implementation of the compliance program

1. Liaison

- Maintain effective relationship with the regulators with respect to compliance related matters.
- Liaison with relevant regulators and arrange to provide necessary reports / data / information as required by regulators.
- Inform the Top Management about significant information, requests, comments and findings received from regulators.

1. To supervise the compliance function including setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with Banks plans and vision, organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks, monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching.

- Desired Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in commerce, Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Master’s degree (MBA – Finance/Banking, LL.M. in Financial/Banking Law, Master’s in Finance or Economics).

Professional

Degrees such as CA/CS/ICWA are preferable.

- Additional certifications in IFSC / international financial regulations is preferable.

- Experience Requirements
- Rich experience in banking or financial services compliance.
- Expertise in regulatory frameworks such as IFSCA, RBI, SEBI, or equivalent.
- Experience handling regulatory inspections and leading compliance teams.
- Strong understanding of compliance risk management, AML/CFT, and governance frameworks.
