About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our Property & Engineering underwriting team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate will have strong technical underwriting skills, a solid understanding of industrial risks, and the ability to drive profitable growth in the commercial lines portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Underwrite Property and Engineering risks for SME commercial and industrial clients.

Evaluate risk exposures, review proposal forms, inspection reports, and financials.

Price and structure policies within underwriting guidelines and profitability targets.

Maintain and strengthen relationships with Agents, Brokers, Clients, and internal stakeholders.

Collaborate with business development, claims, and reinsurance teams.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal underwriting standards.





Demonstrate a proactive approach in identifying opportunities, mitigating risks, and driving portfolio growth.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Property & Engineering Underwriting with a General Insurer.

Solid knowledge of policy wordings, exclusions, and risk assessment.

Minimum Graduation required; additional certifications (e.g., ACII, III) will be an added advantage.

Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
