Commercial Manager

Role Summary The Commercial Manager will oversee end-to-end import-export processes, procurement from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), inventory control, and stores & logistics. This position bridges the gap between commercial sales, technical quotation teams, external suppliers, and logistics partners to drive operational excellence. You will lead team pipelines, manage vendor relations, handle service unit logistics, oversee payments collection, and maintain absolute inventory control. Experience: 10 – 15+ years of hands-on experience in global supply chain, logistics, or import/export management.

Qualification

1. Bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline. Candidates with B.Com, M.Com, BBA, or B.E./B.Tech qualifications will be preferred.
2. Candidates with an MBA/PGDM in Finance, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related specialization will be given preference.
3. Relevant professional certifications in Logistics Management, Contract Management, Procurement or Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.





1. Import, Export & Logistics Management a) Trade Compliance: Oversee international trade compliance, customs documentation, tariff classification, and regulatory clearances.

b) Freight Forwarding: Coordinate with freight forwarders and shipping lines to negotiate freight rates, manage shipping routes, and track transit milestones.

c) Risk Mitigation: Mitigate supply chain disruptions, manage strict delivery timelines, and maintain robust relationships with vendors and carriers.

2. Procurement & Vendor Selection a) OEM Ordering: Place and track purchase orders with international and domestic OEMs while managing lead times, allocations, and product specifications.

b) Project Procurement: Drive vendor selection, material procurement, and provide continuous updates to leadership on procurement status.

3. Inventory & Store Monitoring a) Documentation Control: Oversee the direct issue of Goods Received Notes (GRN), Gate Passes, Delivery Challans (DC), and E-Way bills.

b) Stock Auditing: Manage the inventory of all core principals and conduct mandatory physical stock verifications on a monthly basis.

4. Service Unit & Warranty Handling a) Logistics Handling: Manage the pickup of Free of Cost (FOC)

b) Record Keeping: Maintain flawless records of all FOC items, managing service units both under warranty and out of warranty.

5. Finance, Collections & Team Supervision a) Billing & Invoicing: Oversee the accurate generation of commercial sales invoices, packing lists, and credit notes to ensure perfect alignment with order terms.

b) Payments Collection: Ensure timely collections from clients strictly adhering to agreed payment terms.

c) Quotation Supervision: Monitor, audit, and support the internal team responsible for generating technical and commercial customer quotes to ensure speed and accuracy.

d) MIS Reporting: Maintain daily data on sales/purchase order statuses, invoices, and margins to submit accurate weekly MIS reports to management.

Key Requirements

1. Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of Incoterms, customs rules and international shipping procedures.
2. Leadership: Proven track record of managing operational teams, specifically quotation or administrative desks.
3. Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or Odoo), CRM platforms, and Microsoft Excel.
4. Communication: Exceptional negotiation skills and explicit communication to liaise seamlessly across international time zones and maintain regular status updates with clients.
5. Insurance : To manage and coordinate with Insurance companies for adequate insurance coverage for good in transit and stores across all locations and shipments.
