Role & responsibilities

- Set and operate CNC machines as per production plan, component drawings and process requirements.
- Perform machine setting, tool setting, tool offset, work offset and fixture setting.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances and GD&T;.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, speeds, feeds and machining parameters.
- Prepare and modify CNC programs/offsets as required for production and dimensional corrections.
- Conduct first-piece inspection after machine setup and ensure approval before batch production.
- Monitor dimensions and process parameters during production using Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge and other measuring instruments.
- Maintain required dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per drawing/customer specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot machining issues such as tool wear, vibration, chatter, dimensional variation and surface-finish problems.
- Minimize rejection, rework, tool consumption and machine downtime.
- Monitor tool life and replace tools/inserts before excessive wear causes rejection.




- Coordinate with Production and Quality teams for process improvement and corrective actions.
- Maintain daily production, inspection and machine-setting records.
- Follow 5S, safety procedures, SOPs, work instructions and quality standards.
- Ensure proper handling of raw material, WIP and finished components.
- Support Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, productivity improvement and rejection reduction activities.
