Role & responsibilities Set and operate Hermle C30U 5-axis CNC machining centre with Heidenhain TNC 530.

Read and understand engineering drawings, machining drawings and specifications.

Understand CNC programs and make necessary operator-level corrections.

Perform complete machine setup including:

Fixture and workholding setup

Tool loading and tool identification

Tool length/radius offset setting

Workpiece datum and work offset setting

Probe/tool setter operations, wherever applicable

Rotary/5-axis setup

Load programs and conduct dry runs, single-block runs and prove-outs safely.

Monitor machining operations and make appropriate offset corrections based on measurements.

Handle machining of complex 3-axis/3+2-axis/5-axis components.

Check first-off components using vernier, micrometer, bore gauges, height gauge and other inspection instruments.

Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface-finish requirements are achieved.

Identify and report machining problems such as:

Tool wear

Chatter and vibration

Poor surface finish

Dimensional variation

Tool breakage

Incorrect offsets

Fixture/workholding issues

Carry out tool changes and optimize cutting conditions within approved process parameters.

Maintain proper tool and machine records.

Follow process sheets, setup sheets, inspection plans and work instructions.

Maintain machine cleanliness and follow 5S requirements.

Ensure safe operation of the machine and follow all company safety procedures.

Minimize machine idle time and achieve planned cycle times.

Coordinate with programmers, production engineers and quality personnel for resolving machining issues.

Maintain proper traceability of components, tools and inspection records.

Technical Skills Required

Strong hands-on experience with Heidenhain TNC 530.





Practical experience in 5-axis CNC machining.

Good understanding of

Tool offsets and work offsets

Tool radius compensation

Datum setting

Coordinate systems

CYCLE functions

M-codes and basic G-code

Heidenhain conversational programming

3+2-axis and simultaneous 5-axis machining concepts

Ability to understand and make minor corrections to CNC programs.

Good knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters.

Ability to select appropriate tools based on material and machining operation.

Knowledge of carbide milling tools, drills, reamers, thread mills, etc.

Ability to interpret GD&T; and dimensional tolerances.

- Familiarity with precision inspection instruments.

Preferred candidate profile

46 years of relevant CNC machining experience.

Minimum 23 years of hands-on experience in 5-axis machining.

Experience with Hermle machines will be a strong advantage.

Experience with Heidenhain TNC 530 is preferred.

Aerospace, defence, medical or high-precision component manufacturing experience is desirable.

Robust hands-on experience with Heidenhain TNC 530.

Practical experience in 5-axis CNC machining.
