Role & responsibilities The Cloud Database Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-native database solutions with a primary focus on GCP AlloyDB PostgreSQL. This role involves driving database architecture, modernization, performance engineering, and cloud migration initiatives while ensuring high availability, scalability, security, and operational excellence. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performance data platforms aligned with business and enterprise standards.

Preferred candidate profile

- Strong expertise in AlloyDB PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and database architecture.

- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server, and NoSQL platforms such as MongoDB or Cassandra.

- Knowledge of data modeling, query optimization, OLTP/OLAP systems, and large-scale data platforms.





- Experience with BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, ETL, and streaming technologies.

- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.

- Understanding of API integrations, messaging platforms (Kafka, Pub/Sub, SQS), and cloud-native architectures.

- Hands-on experience with GCP; exposure to AWS or Azure is an advantage.

- Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.

- Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, encryption, monitoring, observability, and disaster recovery practices.

- Exposure to GenAI, Agentic AI, and contemporary application integration patterns is desirable.
