Job Title: Civil Engineer Healthcare Construction

Job Summary

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and executing civil works for healthcare facilities such as hospitals, medical colleges, diagnostic centers, and specialty clinics. The role ensures that construction activities comply with healthcare standards, safety regulations, quality benchmarks, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

- Oversee civil construction activities for hospital buildings and healthcare infrastructure.
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings specific to healthcare facilities.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and hospital management.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules and milestones.

1. Site Supervision & Quality Control

- Monitor day-to-day site activities and ensure work is executed as per approved drawings.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare construction standards and infection control norms.
- Conduct regular quality inspections of materials and workmanship.
- Implement safety protocols at site.

1. Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with local building codes and healthcare regulations.
- Coordinate with statutory authorities for approvals and inspections.
- Maintain documentation for audits and certifications.

1. Cost Control & Billing

- Verify contractor bills and quantities executed.




- Monitor project costs and minimize variations.
- Assist in BOQ preparation and rate analysis.

1. Coordination with Specialized Healthcare Requirements

- Ensure proper implementation of:
- OT (Operation Theatre) layouts
- ICU and isolation room requirements
- Radiation protection works (for radiology areas)
- Medical gas pipeline routing coordination
- Clean room standards

1. Maintenance & Renovation Projects

- Supervise renovation works in operational hospitals with minimal disruption.
- Ensure patient safety and infection control during construction.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E / B.Tech Civil)
- 3–10 years of experience in healthcare or institutional building projects
- Knowledge of hospital design standards and NABH guidelines (preferred)
- Solid understanding of structural systems, finishing works, and waterproofing
