Company Description Design India Collective (DIC) is a collaborative venture founded by educators and students of Art & Design from across India, focused on experiential learning and real-world practice. The organization aims to bridge the gap between information and hands-on experience, nurturing future designers and leaders with ethical and socially responsible approaches to design.

DIC is led by alumni of prestigious institutions such as Sir J. J. School of Art, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, National Institute of Design Ahmedabad, and IIT Bombay, and is spearheaded by educationist Nitin Agrawal, who has over twenty years of teaching experience in Art & Design.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Cinematographer & Video Editor based in Mumbai. The role involves planning and executing video shoots for educational, promotional, and documentary-style content aligned with DIC’s design and learning initiatives.

Day-to-day responsibilities include operating cameras, setting up and adjusting lighting, collaborating on shot lists and visual storytelling, and capturing high-quality footage.



The Cinematographer & Video Editor will also edit videos, add basic motion graphics, sound, and color correction, and prepare final deliverables for digital platforms. The role requires close collaboration with educators, students, and the creative team to ensure that visual content reflects DIC’s values and enhances learner engagement.

Qualifications

- Solid skills in Camera Operation and Cinematography for studio and on-location shoots.
- Experience in Video Production, including planning, shooting, and post-production workflows.
- Knowledge of Film Production processes, such as pre-production planning, shot composition, and visual storytelling.
- Proficiency in Lighting setup and control for diverse environments and creative requirements.
- Hands-on experience with professional video cameras, lenses, and accessories.
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar) and basic color grading.
- Understanding of audio recording for video, including use of microphones and basic sound editing.
- Ability to work collaboratively with creative and academic teams and to direct non-actors comfortably.
- Strong portfolio or showreel demonstrating cinematography and editing work.
- Relevant education in Film, Media, Visual Communication, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
