Chief Operating Officer

Reporting to: Executive Director Location: Pune, Maharashtra A dynamic and diversified portfolio comprising Hospital (a 300-bed tertiary care facility in Pune) and a premium chain of Schools (a network of 3 campuses in Alandi, Latur, and Indore with over 3,500 enrolled students). The cluster currently generates combined revenues in excess of ₹100 crores. The mandate for the incoming leadership is to aggressively double this revenue over the next 4 years while simultaneously upholding the highest standards of quality excellence across all institutions.

Position Summary:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will take end-to-end ownership of cluster operations, acting as the primary driver of execution. This is not a purely advisory or high-level strategic role; it requires a hands-on operator who has built systems from the ground up, understands ground-level realities, and focuses strictly on getting work done. The COO will ensure that every strategic decision is relentlessly executed, operational bottlenecks are unblocked, and both financial growth and institutional quality benchmarks are achieved on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL EXECUTION & LEADERSHIP

1. Drive Absolute Execution: Ensure that all finalized strategies are rigorously executed on the ground without dilution or delay.
2. Unblock & Resolve: Proactively identify what is stuck across the institutions, intervene directly, and resolve operational roadblocks on a daily/weekly basis.
3. Goal & Schedule Management: Conduct relentless reviews of operational goals, ensuring all initiatives, capacity expansions, and daily operations remain perfectly on schedule.
4. Cross-Functional Tracking: Track end-to-end workflows across all administrative, clinical, and academic functions to ensure tight alignment and efficiency.
5. Direct Ownership: Take personal,



hands-on ownership of mission-critical activities, high-stakes projects, and the overarching 4-year revenue-doubling mandate.

HOSPITAL OPERATIONS

1. Patient Care Quality & Clinical Excellence: Establish and enforce uncompromising standards for patient care, clinical outcomes, and strict adherence to healthcare regulations.
2. Hospital P&L; & Growth: Drive capacity utilization, expand specialty service lines, and optimize cost efficiencies to accelerate revenue growth.
3. Operational Discipline: Institutionalize robust SOPs for daily hospital administration, minimizing turnaround times and elevating the overall patient experience.

SCHOOL OPERATIONS

1. Academic Excellence & Student Success: Uphold and elevate the quality of education, ensuring rigorous academic standards, robust student development, and excellent campus environments.
2. School P&L; & Expansion: Drive student enrolment growth, optimize campus operations, and manage expansion plans across all three current and future locations.
3. Stakeholder Alignment: Implement solid performance management and governance frameworks for academic and administrative staff.

Candidate Profile

1. Experience: 15 to 20 years of progressive leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing end-to-end operations in multi-unit healthcare, education, or allied service sectors.
2. Ground-Up Operator: Demonstrated experience building operations from the ground up.
3. Scale & Growth: Proven history of managing a business with revenues of ₹100 crores or above, with a successful track record of aggressively scaling operations and doubling metrics within tight timeframes.
4. Quality Focus: Deep commitment to institutionalizing quality—both in patient care and academic excellence—balancing aggressive growth with superior service delivery.
5. Education: Postgraduate qualification in Business Management, Hospital Administration, or a related discipline.
