POSITION SUMMARY

Our client is seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer to lead and further professionalise its Indian organisation. The CFO will report to the Managing Director and will hold broad responsibility across Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Customs and Foreign Trade (CFT), Corporate Functions, and QHSE.

The role combines statutory and Group finance leadership with manufacturing controlling, cash and working capital management, ERP implementation, process harmonisation, and business partnering for the local management team.

The CFO will lead and develop the finance organisation, strengthen governance and internal controls, coordinate the transition of selected accounting activities from external advisors, and act as the primary financial interface between the Indian organisation and the international headquarters.

The role will support the companys growth in India and its wider international markets.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance, Accounting & Reporting

- Lead the overall Finance and Accounting organisation for the Indian entity and ensure accurate, timely, and audit-ready statutory financial statements under Indian GAAP.
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to the international headquarters in accordance with Group requirements, including high-quality management commentary and financial analysis.
- Own cash management, liquidity planning, cash forecasting, working capital optimisation, inventory oversight, bank guarantees, and related financing instruments.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, prepare business cases and investment evaluations, and manage banking relationships and financing topics.
- Take overall responsibility for Indian tax matters, including Corporate Income Tax, GST, Transfer Pricing, and TDS, as well as coordination with external advisors and auditors.

Manufacturing Controlling & Business Partnering

- Provide hands-on manufacturing controlling expertise across product costing, material cost analysis, CAPEX evaluation, and product profitability analysis.
- Define, implement,



and monitor operational and financial KPIs for the Indian organisation and identify performance deviations at an early stage.
- Act as a strategic business partner to the local management team, supporting operational decisions, growth initiatives, and market expansion.
- Translate financial and operational data into clear recommendations, risk assessments, and mitigation plans for local and international stakeholders.

Compliance, Risk & QHSE Governance

- Ensure full compliance with applicable Indian requirements covering tax, corporate and commercial law, customs, foreign trade, labour matters, and QHSE.
- Coordinate effectively with auditors, banks, regulatory authorities, and external advisors, including FEMA, Customs, labour, and QHSE-related authorities.
- Strengthen internal controls, segregation-of-duties principles, documentation, and risk-appropriate operating procedures in line with Group standards.
- Establish a culture of transparent, timely, accurate, and proactive communication, including early escalation of material risks and deviations.

Digitalisation & Process Excellence

- Lead the ongoing ERPNext implementation, replace fragmented standalone systems with an integrated ERP environment, and support the future SAP S/4HANA migration.
- Establish reliable automated interfaces, clear process ownership, and robust finance controls across the organisation.
- Eliminate fragmented standalone solutions by establishing automated and reliable interfaces as well as clearly defined data and process ownership.
- Optimise and document Finance processes, define responsibilities and interfaces, and support process harmonisation across the Indian organisation and the Group.
- Drive the gradual transition of selected accounting activities from external advisors.
- Contribute to the future group-wide systems integration roadmap.

Leadership, Organisation & Cross-Cultural Collaboration

- Lead and develop the finance organisation, building capabilities, accountability, and a strong service orientation towards the business.
- Report to the Managing Director and collaborate closely with local management, headquarters functions, and external advisors.
- Serve as a credible bridge between the Indian organisation, local advisors,



and international headquarters, ensuring that local realities are understood and acted upon.
- Support the wider leadership agenda across Finance, HR, IT, Customs and Foreign Trade (CFT), Corporate Functions, and QHSE while maintaining clear governance and decision rights.

REQUIRED KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- Company Secretary (CS) or MBA qualification would be an advantage.
- At least 15 years of relevant professional experience, including senior-level or comparable finance leadership experience in an Indian manufacturing company within an international group.
- Solid knowledge of Indian GAAP and Indian tax matters, including Corporate Income Tax, GST, Transfer Pricing, and TDS.
- Sound understanding of customs, import/export regulations, corporate and commercial law, banking, liquidity planning, and working capital management.
- Proven expertise in manufacturing controlling and cost accounting, including product costing, material cost analysis, CAPEX evaluation, product profitability, and KPI management.
- Mandatory experience in ERP implementation.
- Experience with finance digitalisation and systems integration is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing finance teams, as well as managing change, process optimisation, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Fluent English, both spoken and written, is mandatory.
- Additional international language skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
