Job Summary

We are looking for a Chemical Process Engineer to work on our plastic pyrolysis and waste-to-fuel operations. The role involves process engineering, plant trials, process optimisation, equipment sizing, mass & energy balance, production monitoring, troubleshooting and scale-up.

The candidate should be comfortable working in a hands-on plant and R&D; environment, coordinating with mechanical, electrical/instrumentation, operations and external engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Understand and develop the complete plastic pyrolysis process from feed preparation to oil, gas and char recovery.
- Prepare and review mass balance, energy/heat balance, material flow and process calculations.
- Determine key process requirements such as temperature profile, residence time, heating requirement, vapour generation and condensation load.
- Support sizing/specification of reactors, separators, condensers, heat exchangers, piping and other process equipment.
- Prepare/review PFDs, P&IDs;, process datasheets, SOPs and operating parameters.
- Monitor plant trials and analyse temperature, pressure, feed rate, yield, product quality and other operating data.
- Troubleshoot issues such as low oil yield, wax formation, poor condensation, unstable vapour flow and process inconsistency.
- Work on process optimisation, cycle-time reduction, energy efficiency and product-quality improvement.
- Support catalyst trials and optimisation of pyrolysis oil towards the required hydrocarbon range/product specification.
- Participate in pilot trials, scale-up and commissioning of new equipment/process modifications.




- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical/Instrumentation, Production and Quality teams.
- Maintain trial reports, process records, technical calculations and performance reports.
- Develop safe operating procedures, process interlocks and operating limits in coordination with the plant team.
- Support continuous improvement and development of recent pyrolysis/process technologies.

Preferred Skills Experience with pyrolysis, thermal processing, chemical plants, refineries, petrochemicals, distillation, waste-to-energy, reactors or other high-temperature process industries will be preferred.

Knowledge of Aspen HYSYS/Aspen Plus, DWSIM, AutoCAD/P&ID; tools or process simulation software will be an advantage.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who is:

- Strong in chemical engineering fundamentals and process calculations.
- Interested in both process design and hands-on plant operations.
- Comfortable conducting trials and solving practical plant problems.
- Analytical and capable of interpreting process data.
- Able to independently document calculations and technical findings.
- Willing to work closely with plant operators and engineering teams on the shop floor.
- Ownership-oriented and capable of taking a technical problem from identification through resolution.
