Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Chartered Accountant – Statutory Audit role based in Mumbai. The professional in this role will perform and manage statutory audits for clients, including planning audit procedures, reviewing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.

Day-to-day tasks include testing internal controls, analyzing financial data, preparing audit documentation and working papers, and drafting audit reports with clear findings and recommendations. The role involves coordinating with client finance teams, responding to audit queries, and supporting the resolution of accounting or compliance issues.

Accountant will also assist in improving audit processes and contribute to maintaining strong client relationships through timely, accurate, and professional service.

Qualifications

- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 1–3 years of post-qualification experience in statutory audit.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, auditing standards, and relevant regulations (e.g., Companies Act, tax and compliance frameworks).
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis, audit planning, and execution, including testing controls and substantive procedures.
- Ability to prepare clear working papers, audit documentation, and concise audit reports with well-supported conclusions.
- Comfort with using accounting and audit tools or software; strong MS Excel and general IT literacy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with client stakeholders.
- Solid analytical thinking, attention to detail, and professional skepticism in assessing financial information.
- Ability to manage time effectively, handle multiple engagements, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and commitment to high ethical and professional standards.
- Prior experience with audit firms or consulting organizations in statutory or external audit is highly beneficial.
