Position: Cath Lab Technician

Job Summary The Cath Lab Technician will be responsible for assisting cardiologists and the Cath Lab team during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, ensuring proper preparation of equipment, maintaining patient safety, and supporting smooth and efficient Cath Lab operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare the Cath Lab, equipment, instruments and required consumables before each procedure.
- Assist cardiologists and other clinical staff during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Handle and operate Cath Lab equipment as per hospital protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
- Assist in procedures such as Coronary Angiography (CAG), PTCA/PCI, temporary pacemaker insertion and other cardiac interventions, as assigned.
- Ensure availability and proper functioning of all required instruments, devices, contrast media and consumables.
- Assist in patient preparation before procedures and provide appropriate support during and after procedures.
- Maintain proper sterile technique and follow infection-prevention and control protocols.
- Monitor and maintain Cath Lab equipment and report any malfunction immediately to the concerned authority/biomedical team.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures, consumables, equipment usage and other required documentation.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of Cath Lab supplies, stents, balloons, catheters, guidewires and other consumables as applicable.
- Follow radiation-safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist the team in maintaining radiation safety, including proper use of protective barriers and dosimeters as applicable.
- Support emergency procedures and assist the clinical team during cardiac emergencies.
- Ensure proper cleaning,



disinfection and preparation of equipment and procedure areas as per hospital SOPs.
- Coordinate with nursing, pharmacy, biomedical engineering, CSSD and other departments whenever required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
- Follow hospital policies, NABH requirements, clinical protocols and patient-safety standards.
- Participate in equipment checks, quality-control activities, audits and training programs.
- Maintain professionalism, discipline and effective communication with patients and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Cath Lab In-Charge or hospital management.

Educational Qualification
- B.Sc. in Cardiac Care Technology / Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent qualification.
- Diploma in Cath Lab Technology/Cardiac Care Technology may be considered as per hospital requirements.
- Relevant professional certification/registration, wherever applicable.

Experience
- 0–2 years of Cath Lab experience preferred.
- Candidates with relevant internship/clinical exposure may be considered for entry-level positions.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of Cath Lab procedures and equipment.
- Knowledge of CAG, PCI/PTCA and other cardiac interventions.
- Valuable understanding of sterile techniques and infection control.
- Knowledge of radiation safety.
- Ability to work effectively during emergency and high-pressure situations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to patient safety and procedural accuracy.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
