Category Business Manager (CBM)

About the Role

We are looking for a strategic and commercially driven Category Business Manager (CBM) to own and grow the category business across India. The role will be responsible for managing the complete category P&L;, driving revenue and profitability, strengthening brand and supplier relationships, managing inventory, and building long-term category growth strategies.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in category management, commercial negotiations, inventory planning, pricing, promotions, and business development within the e-commerce industry.

Key Responsibilities

· Own the complete category P&L;, including GMV, net revenue, contribution margin, and working capital.

· Develop and execute category growth strategies to achieve revenue and profitability objectives.

· Build and manage strong relationships with brands and suppliers.

· Lead commercial negotiations with brands and suppliers to improve margins and business performance.

· Develop the SKU roadmap by identifying products to be sourced, purchase quantities, costing, seasons, and key events.

· Drive margin governance by defining and maintaining appropriate pricing and margin floors at the SKU level.

· Plan and execute category promotions, discounts, and promotional funding strategies.

· Identify and onboard new brands to expand the category portfolio.

· Develop strategies for new SKU launches and ensure successful product performance and sales velocity.

· Monitor inventory health, stock availability, inventory turns, and aging inventory.

· Develop and execute liquidation strategies for slow-moving and aging inventory.

· Drive business planning and closure of strategic initiatives across brands and marketplaces.

· Identify opportunities for business growth through technology, automation, data,



and AI-led initiatives.

· Monitor and improve FC shipment processes to ensure smooth and efficient order fulfillment.

· Use data and business insights to identify growth opportunities, improve profitability, and enhance operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· 4+ years of experience in Category Management, Business Management, E-commerce, or a related role.

· Solid understanding of category P&L; management and commercial business operations.

· Experience in managing brands, suppliers, and commercial negotiations.

· Strong understanding of inventory planning, pricing, promotions, and margin management.

· Experience working with e-commerce marketplaces and online business models.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

· Strong business acumen with a result-oriented approach.

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.

· Proficiency in Excel and business analytics tools.

Pay: ₹90,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
