Position Summary

We are looking for a CAE Engineer with 1–5 years of experience in aerospace structural analysis, particularly in airframe stress analysis and vibration. The candidate will be responsible for finite element modelling, structural analysis, post-processing, and interpretation of NASTRAN results for aerospace and advanced engineering applications.

The engineer will work closely with structural, mechanical, aerospace, and systems engineering teams across the product development cycle, from concept and analysis through design validation and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) of Airframe structures and airframe components.
- Conduct static, modal, vibration, and other structural analyses as required.
- Develop and maintain high-quality 2D and 3D finite element models using HyperMesh.
- Perform geometry cleanup, meshing, element quality checks, connectivity checks, and model preparation.
- Set up and execute MSC NASTRAN analysis decks for various structural analysis requirements.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of NASTRAN cards and bulk data entries and their application in analysis.




- Set up analysis models and decks using PATRAN and perform pre-processing activities.
- Perform detailed post-processing of NASTRAN results and interpret structural response, stresses, strains, displacements, and modal characteristics.
- Perform airframe stress analysis and support structural sizing and design decisions.
- Correlate and validate analytical results against engineering requirements and, where applicable, experimental/test results.
- Identify potential structural issues and work with design engineers to develop appropriate solutions.
- Support design reviews by presenting analysis methodology, assumptions, results, and conclusions.
- Prepare technical reports, analysis reports, calculation notes, and other engineering documentation.
- Support structural development, prototype validation, and testing activities.
- Work closely with mechanical and aerospace engineers to ensure analysis models accurately represent the physical structure and loading conditions.
- Develop and maintain engineering automation tools and scripts to improve analysis efficiency and reduce repetitive tasks.
- Use Python and/or VB/VBA to automate pre-processing, post-processing, data extraction, reporting, and other CAE workflows.
- Follow engineering standards, modelling practices, quality requirements,



and internal analysis procedures.

Requirements:

- B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Must have minimum 1 year of relevant experience in airframe stress analysis, and/or vibration analysis.
- Strong theoretical understanding of Strength of Materials, Structural Mechanics, Vibration, and Finite Element Methods.
- Hands-on experience with HyperMesh for 2D and 3D meshing.
- In-depth working knowledge of NASTRAN, including familiarity with NASTRAN cards at the bulk data/card level.
- Hands-on experience with PATRAN for finite element model setup, analysis deck preparation, and post-processing.
- Ability to interpret and troubleshoot NASTRAN analysis results and identify modelling or setup issues.
- Experience in modal and vibration analysis of aerospace or mechanical structures.
- Good understanding of finite element modelling practices, element types, mesh quality, boundary conditions, loads, contacts/connectivity, and analysis assumptions.
- Knowledge of NASTRAN SOL 200 for structural size optimization will be an added advantage.
- Experience in developing automation tools/scripts using Python and/or VB/VBA is highly desirable.
- Ability to independently execute analysis activities and clearly communicate technical findings.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good technical documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
