Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. CAD Department Management

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the complete CAD department.
- Allocate CAD jobs according to designer skill level, workload, complexity, and delivery priority.
- Monitor daily CAD output, pending jobs, revisions, approvals, and production requirements.
- Ensure CAD orders are completed within committed timelines.
- Balance workloads during high-volume production periods.
- Take overall responsibility for the department’s quality, productivity, and discipline.

2. Jewelry CAD Technical Review

- Review CAD models before they are approved for production.
- Ensure correct dimensions, proportions, symmetry, stone sizes, setting allowances, metal thicknesses, tolerances, and construction.
- Verify prongs, galleries, shanks, bezels, channels, pavé areas, stone seats, connections, and assembly points.
- Ensure models are technically suitable for casting, setting, filing, polishing, assembly, and final finishing.
- Identify weak construction or manufacturing risks before the CAD reaches production.

3. Production-Ready CAD Standards

- Ensure every approved CAD is practical for jewelry manufacturing and not only visually correct.
- Establish minimum standards for metal thickness, stone clearance, prong dimensions, tolerances, shrinkage considerations, and structural strength.
- Reduce casting failures, setting difficulties, polishing problems, excessive metal removal, and remakes caused by CAD errors.
- Ensure STL and other production files are clean and correctly prepared.

4. Quality Control & Error Reduction

- Establish a CAD QC/checklist system before designs are released.
- Track CAD-related production errors, revisions, customer complaints, and remakes.
- Conduct root-cause analysis when a CAD creates a manufacturing issue.
- Identify repeated mistakes by designers and implement corrective training.
- Maintain accountability for avoidable CAD errors.

5. Team Leadership & Performance

- Lead, supervise, and mentor CAD designers.
- Set daily,



weekly, and monthly productivity expectations.
- Monitor individual performance based on quality, speed, accuracy, revisions, and production success.
- Identify skill gaps and create improvement plans.
- Maintain discipline, attendance, work allocation, and accountability within the department.
- Recommend hiring or additional resources based on department workload.

6. CAD Training & Development

- Train current CAD designers according to company jewelry-manufacturing standards.
- Upgrade the technical knowledge of existing designers.
- Train designers on different jewelry categories, stone settings, construction techniques, manufacturing limitations, and production requirements.
- Build standardized training material, reference CADs, checklists, and SOPs.
- Develop junior designers into independently productive team members.

7. Production & Cross-Department Coordination

- Work closely with Design, Merchandising, Diamond, Production, Filing, Setting, Polishing, QC, Gold/Inventory, and Order Processing teams.
- Resolve production issues related to CAD construction.
- Take feedback from setters, polishers, production teams, and QC and incorporate it into future CAD standards.
- Clarify stone sizes, diamond layouts, metal requirements, measurements, and construction before finalizing complicated jobs.
- Support urgent production corrections and technically difficult custom orders.

8. Stone & Setting Accuracy

- Ensure stone sizes, shapes, quantities, layouts, and setting types match the job requirements.
- Verify feasibility for prong, pavé, micro-pavé, channel, bezel, halo, invisible,



shared-prong, and other applicable settings.
- Ensure adequate spacing and metal support around diamonds and gemstones.
- Coordinate with the Diamond and Setting departments when stone dimensions or setting feasibility require clarification.

9. Weight & Material Optimization

- Control unnecessary metal weight while maintaining durability and production feasibility.
- Review designs for areas where excessive metal may increase manufacturing cost.
- Avoid over-lightweight CAD construction that can cause weakness, casting problems, or finishing issues.
- Help establish appropriate weight standards for repeatable jewelry categories.

10. Revision & Approval Management

- Monitor CAD revisions and ensure changes are implemented correctly.
- Prevent repeated or unnecessary revisions caused by internal mistakes.
- Maintain proper version control so production always receives the latest approved CAD.
- Ensure approved designs and production files are clearly identified before manufacturing begins.

11. CAD SOPs & Standardization

- Develop and maintain CAD department SOPs.
- Standardize file naming, folder structure, model organization, STL preparation, approval workflow, and revision control.
- Build standard libraries for commonly used components where appropriate.
- Maintain consistency across designers so production receives predictable, standardized files.

12. Data, File & Design Security

- Maintain strict confidentiality of customer designs, CAD files, technical information, stone specifications, and company-developed products.
- Ensure CAD files are stored in the correct company folders and backed up according to company procedures.
- Prevent unauthorized copying, sharing, downloading, or reuse of customer/company designs.
- Ensure departing or transferred employees properly hand over CAD files and project information.

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
