Purpose of the Position The Buyer - Interior (Seating) will be responsible for market scouting, supplier identification, cost evaluation, sourcing and supplier nomination for interior seating components.

The role will manage procurement activities throughout the project lifecycle, including capacity planning, RFQ management, commercial negotiations, change management, contracts, tooling and component orders, cost optimization and supplier performance coordination.

The position will ensure that all procurement activities are carried out in accordance with Volkswagen Group procurement processes and standards .

Key Responsibilities 1. Market Scouting Supplier Development

- Conduct market scouting for interior and seating components.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Prepare supplier bidder lists for sourcing activities.
- Support registration and onboarding of new suppliers.
- Monitor supplier capabilities, manufacturing processes and market developments.
- Explore recent technologies, alternative materials and potential cost-saving opportunities.

1. Sourcing RFQ Management

- Gather technical and commercial inputs for sourcing activities.
- Prepare and release RFQs through the applicable procurement systems.
- Follow up with suppliers for quotations and ensure completeness of commercial offers/CBDs.
- Evaluate supplier quotations and conduct cost plausibility checks.
- Request and evaluate part-price and investment targets.
- Prepare cost comparisons based on agreed technical proposals.
- Conduct market benchmarking and evaluate cost competitiveness.
- Support preparation of sourcing presentations and business cases.
- Coordinate with Group Buyers and relevant stakeholders during sourcing activities.

1. Commercial Negotiation Supplier Nomination

- Lead/support commercial negotiations with suppliers.
- Negotiate part prices, investments and commercial terms.
- Prepare and present sourcing proposals to relevant sourcing committees.
- Support presentations to ISC / SSC / Pre-Meeting / CSC and other applicable VW Group committees.




- Prepare alternative sourcing options in case target costs are not achieved.
- Prepare and release LOI, Nomination Letters and eNA as applicable.
- Obtain required approvals and supplier sign-offs for procurement agreements.
- Support project handover and supplier kick-off meetings.

1. Procurement Contract Management

- Issue procurement contracts after supplier nomination and approvals.
- Release and amend component and investment orders.
- Coordinate annual purchase orders and contracts.
- Create and manage capacity agreements/GRNs as applicable.
- Coordinate vendor-code generation and maintain relevant procurement data.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with defined VW Group processes and systems.

1. Series Procurement Activities

- Ensure supplier capacity planning to support production requirements.
- Manage series price settlements and claim settlements.
- Conduct annual price negotiations to achieve agreed cost-reduction targets.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization throughout the product lifecycle.
- Explore value engineering, alternate materials and complexity-reduction opportunities.
- Support global sourcing initiatives and evaluate material-cost saving opportunities.
- Monitor raw-material and foreign-exchange trends.
- Support supplier-related escalations involving RD, Logistics, Quality and other functions.

1. Tooling Procurement

- Process fund requests for tooling procurement as per budget requirements.
- Release tooling procurement orders after required approvals.
- Release and manage procurement orders through applicable procurement systems.
- Coordinate closure of supplier supplementary invoices related to cost changes.
- Create GRNs for tooling and ensure appropriate capitalization of tools.
- Support annual tooling/asset verification at supplier locations.

1. Change Management

- Evaluate engineering and commercial change requests such as AEKO, AeA, MY Point and similar change documents.
- Conduct cost and commercial plausibility checks.
- Negotiate cost implications associated with change requests.
- Prepare evaluations in the required format.
- Coordinate approval and implementation of change requests.
- Align with suppliers on implementation timelines and commercial impact.

1. Project Development Activities

- Participate in commitment meetings and agree on timelines for assigned parts.
- Track development activities and ensure timely completion of procurement milestones.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including RD, Quality, Logistics, SRM and Operations.
- Organize supplier meetings and supplier visits as required.
- Track part development, sample availability and nomination milestones.
- Support project handover from development to series production.

Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should have 10-15 years of experience in automotive procurement/sourcing , preferably with strong exposure to interior/seating commodities . The candidate should have demonstrated experience in supplier scouting, RFQ management, cost evaluation, strategic sourcing, commercial negotiation, supplier nomination, procurement contracts, cost reduction, change management and project procurement .

Experience working with OEMs, Tier-1 automotive suppliers or Volkswagen Group procurement processes will be an added advantage.
