Job Summary

We are looking for an energetic and target-oriented Business Development Executive to join our NVOCC / Shipping & Logistics team in Mumbai. The candidate will be responsible for developing new business, generating leads, acquiring customers, maintaining client relationships, and increasing the company’s shipping and logistics business.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and develop recent business opportunities in the shipping, NVOCC, freight forwarding, and logistics sector.
- Generate leads through market research, cold calling, references, networking, and customer visits.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with importers, exporters, manufacturers, traders, freight forwarders, and other potential customers.
- Promote the company's NVOCC, ocean freight, freight forwarding, and logistics services.
- Understand customer requirements and provide suitable shipping and logistics solutions.
- Prepare quotations and negotiate rates and commercial terms with customers.
- Follow up on quotations, leads, and prospective customers to convert opportunities into business.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly business development and revenue targets.
- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure smooth execution of confirmed shipments.
- Maintain regular communication with existing customers and identify opportunities for additional business.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, freight rates,



and customer requirements.
- Attend client meetings, industry events, and business networking activities as required.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, customer interactions, quotations, and sales activities.
- Provide regular sales reports and updates to management.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline; qualification in Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field is an advantage.
- 1–3 years of experience in Business Development / Sales within NVOCC, Shipping, Freight Forwarding, or Logistics.
- Strong knowledge of ocean freight, NVOCC, import/export, and logistics services.
- Existing customer contacts/network in the shipping and logistics industry will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong lead-generation and customer-acquisition abilities.
- Target-oriented with a proactive approach.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and CRM systems.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and business development activities.

Preferred Candidate
- Candidates with experience in NVOCC / Shipping / Freight Forwarding / Logistics Sales are preferred.
- Candidates with an established network of exporters, importers, manufacturers, traders, or freight-forwarding customers will have an advantage.
- Immediate joiners or candidates who can join at short notice are strongly preferred.
- Candidates based in Mumbai or nearby locations are preferred.
