We are hiring a Business Development Executive – Freight Forwarding for a growing logistics business in Pune.
The role is focused on new business development, client acquisition and revenue generation in the Freight Forwarding segment, with solid preference for candidates having Ocean Import / Ocean Freight sales experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and acquire new customers in the Pune market.
- Generate business through cold calling, references, networking, field visits and existing industry contacts.
- Sell Ocean Freight / Import Freight Forwarding solutions to shippers, importers, exporters and corporate clients.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Handle the complete sales cycle from lead generation to conversion.
- Prepare quotations and negotiate freight rates and commercial terms.
- Achieve individual sales and revenue targets.
- Generate repeat business and increase business from existing customers.
- Coordinate with internal operations and pricing teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Track customer requirements, shipments and outstanding payments.
- Develop the Pune market and identify new business opportunities.
Mandatory Requirements
- 5+ years of direct Sales / Business Development experience in Freight Forwarding / Logistics.
- Strong experience in new client acquisition and hunting.
- Hands-on experience in Ocean Freight, preferably Ocean Import.
- Experience selling to shippers / importers / exporters / corporate customers.
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding services such as FCL, LCL, Ocean Import/Export.
- Valuable experience in pricing, quotation and negotiation.
- Proven track record of achieving sales/revenue targets.
- Candidate should be based in Pune and comfortable with field sales across Pune.
- Candidates with stable career history and strong industry networks will be preferred.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
