Body Shop Manager — Job Profile A Body Shop Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of an automobile accident repair/body repair workshop, ensuring quality repairs, customer satisfaction, productivity, safety, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage daily operations of the body shop, including denting, painting, welding, dismantling, and reassembly.
- Supervise technicians, painters, service advisors, estimators, and support staff.
- Allocate repair jobs and monitor workflow to ensure vehicles are delivered on time.
- Inspect vehicles and ensure repairs meet manufacturer and company quality standards.
- Prepare or review repair estimates, parts requirements, and labour calculations.
- Coordinate with insurance companies, surveyors, customers, and dealerships.
- Monitor insurance claim documentation and approval processes.
- Control workshop costs, labour productivity, parts usage, and material consumption.
- Track key performance indicators such as vehicle turnaround time, productivity, efficiency, quality, rework, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop equipment and tools.
- Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and workplace regulations.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve repair-related issues professionally.
- Train and develop technicians and other body-shop employees.
- Maintain adequate stocks of paints, consumables, spare parts, and other materials.
- Prepare operational and performance reports for management.




- Support business development and achieve body-shop revenue and profitability targets.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma/ITI/degree in Automobile, Mechanical, or related field.
- Typically 5–10+ years of automobile/body-shop experience, including supervisory or managerial experience.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair, denting, painting, estimating, and accident repair processes.
- Knowledge of insurance claim procedures and surveyor coordination.
- Good leadership, team-management, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to monitor costs, productivity, quality, and turnaround time.
- Familiarity with workshop management/ERP systems.
- Robust problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
