Position Responsibilities

1. Ensure that patients receive the blood and blood products on time.
2. Testing blood for transfusion transmitting diseases and to ensure the patient safety.
3. Investigating adverse transfusion reaction and adverse donor reaction.
4. Supervising the collection, separation, delivery and storage of blood components.
5. Supporting physicians and nurses in blood transfusion therapy.
6. Testing for blood group antigens, compatibility and antibody screening.
7. Investigating abnormalities such as hemolytic diseases of the newborn, hemolytic anemia’s etc. and ensure policies and SOP are followed consistently and look for areas of opportunities
8. Performing blood collection and processing, including selecting donors, collecting blood, typing blood and other screening process.
9. Ensure that internal quality control & EQAs activities are performed in time.
10. Ensure that following and maintenance of all required documents.

Education : BSc MLT/ DMLT Experience : 1-2 YR experience as Blood Bank Technician in a NABH accredited Hospital.
