Blasting & Painting role for leading and managing all surface preparation, blasting, and protective coating activities within the shipbuilding operations.
The candidate must possess NACIE Level II or FROSIO Level III certification with 14+ years of relevant experience in the shipbuilding industry.
Oversee the application of protective coating systems (epoxy, polyurethane, zinc-rich) ensuring correct DFT (Dry Film Thickness) compliance.
The incumbent will oversee planning, execution, inspection, manpower management, equipment maintenance, and inventory control related to blasting and painting activities across multiple projects and shifts.
Strong understanding of industrial coating techniques (spray/airless), surface preparation standards (ISO 8501, 8502, 8503), and failure analysis.
Quality compliance, cost optimization, and safe work execution in a high-volume shipbuilding workplace.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Degree in Paint Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Metallurgy.
Experience: 14+ years of experience in blasting and painting
Industry: ShipBuilding
Certifications: NACE/BGAS/SSPC certifications are must.
