We are looking for a Ball Mill Operator responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining ball mill equipment used for grinding and processing raw materials/minerals. The operator will ensure smooth plant operation, maintain required product quality, follow safety procedures, and report equipment abnormalities to the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate the ball mill and associated grinding equipment safely and efficiently.

- Monitor mill operation, including feed rate, mill load, water flow, temperature, vibration, and operating pressure as applicable.

- Maintain the required grinding efficiency and product size as per production specifications.

- Check and control the feeding of raw material into the ball mill.

- Monitor discharge material and ensure consistent product quality.

- Start and stop the ball mill and related equipment according to standard operating procedures.

- Inspect equipment regularly for unusual noise, vibration, leakage, overheating, or other abnormalities.

- Coordinate with the maintenance team for breakdowns, repairs, lubrication, and preventive maintenance.

- Maintain proper housekeeping around the ball mill and grinding area.

- Record production quantities, operating parameters, downtime, and shift activities.

- Ensure proper handling and storage of grinding media such as steel balls, where applicable.

- Follow all plant safety rules, PPE requirements, and operating procedures.

- Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment faults, and production issues to the supervisor.

- Assist in routine inspection and maintenance activities when required.

- Coordinate with other operators and production personnel to maintain continuous plant operation.

Safety Responsibilities

- Always use required PPE such as helmet, safety shoes, gloves, goggles, ear protection,



and dust protection as applicable.

- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before maintenance or entering restricted equipment areas.

- Never open or access the mill while it is operating.

- Follow site procedures for confined spaces, electrical equipment, rotating machinery, and dust exposure.

- Maintain safe distance from rotating and moving equipment.

- Participate in toolbox talks and safety training.

Qualifications

- Education: 10th / 12th / ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Mining, Electrical, or related field preferred.

- Previous experience in a ball mill, grinding plant, mineral processing plant, cement plant, steel plant, or mining operation is preferred.

- Freshers may be considered for trainee/operator positions depending on the plant requirements.

- Basic understanding of ball mill and grinding operations.

- Ability to read and understand operating parameters and gauges.

- Basic mechanical knowledge.

- Ability to identify abnormal sounds, vibration, temperature, and other equipment problems.

- Good observation and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to work in shifts.

- Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions.

- Physically fit to work in an industrial setting.

Working Conditions

- Work in a plant/industrial environment.

- Shift-based work may be required, including night shifts.

- Exposure to noise, dust, heat, vibration, and heavy machinery may occur.

- Strict compliance with safety and PPE requirements is mandatory.
