Job Title: Backend Java Software Engineer – Billing & Account Management (BAM)

Location: 100% Remote (India)

Must-Have Skills:

- 5+ years of hands-on Java + Spring Boot 3 backend development and production microservices.
- Strong experience with GraphQL (Netflix DGS or Apollo Java/Kotlin).
- Event-driven systems using AWS SQS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ .
- Robust JPA/Hibernate, Spring Data JPA, MySQL/Aurora , transactions, and optimistic locking.
- JUnit 5, Mockito , and integration testing.
- Gradle multi-module builds and GitLab CI/CD .
- Datadog metrics, monitoring, and deployment quality gates.
- Experience with REST/SDK integrations and production event-driven services.
- Experience designing idempotent event handlers , schema migrations, and distributed systems.




- Responsible use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.

Nice to Have:

- Billing/Payments domain experience.
- DynamoDB, MongoDB , and multi-store architectures.
- Netflix DGS experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices for billing systems.
- Work on transactional consistency, event processing, reliability, and data synchronization .
- Manage data across MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB , and external platforms such as Zuora .
- Deliver production code through GitLab CI/CD , with strong unit/integration test coverage.
- Improve observability, resilience, and safe production deployments using Datadog
