Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Azure Cloud Engineer to work as a dedicated technical resource supporting a U.S.-based enterprise client's Microsoft Azure environment. The engineer will work closely with the client's internal IT, infrastructure, security, application, and data teams and serve as a day-to-day technical liaison for Azure infrastructure and cloud operations. This role requires broad Azure infrastructure knowledge, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to independently manage cloud-related requests, issues, deployments, and operational activities.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working directly with customer stakeholders and taking ownership from issue identification through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Support the design, deployment, configuration, and ongoing operation of Microsoft Azure infrastructure.

Work directly with internal IT and application teams on Azure infrastructure requirements and technical issues.

Provision and manage Azure resources following organizational security and governance standards.

Support Azure Virtual Networks, subnets, Network Security Groups, private endpoints, virtual machines, storage accounts, App Services, Functions, Key Vault, load balancing, monitoring, logging, backup, and recovery.

Support identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC.

Troubleshoot infrastructure, connectivity, authentication, performance, and deployment issues.

Work with application, data, and integration teams to establish appropriate Azure connectivity and infrastructure.

Support cloud security,



access-control, networking, and configuration requirements.

Monitor Azure resources and proactively identify operational, performance, availability, and capacity issues.

Assist with Azure cost monitoring and optimization.

Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Infrastructure-as-Code and scripting where appropriate.

Support Azure DevOps-based deployment and operational processes.

Maintain technical documentation covering configurations, architecture, operational procedures, and dependencies.

Coordinate with client IT teams, vendors, and offshore engineering teams when resolving cross-platform issues.

Participate in regular operational reviews and communicate status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations clearly.

Required Skills

8+ years of infrastructure/cloud engineering experience with significant hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.

Strong understanding of Azure infrastructure and platform services.

Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Networks, subnets and NSGs, private endpoints and private networking, Azure Storage, Virtual Machines, App Services, Azure Monitor / Log Analytics, Key Vault, Azure Backup, Microsoft Entra ID, and RBAC/access management.

Robust understanding of cloud networking, DNS, routing, firewalls, and connectivity.

Experience troubleshooting complex Azure infrastructure and integration issues.





Understanding of cloud security, governance, and operational best practices.

Experience using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar automation tools.

Working knowledge of Azure DevOps.

Strong communication skills, experience interacting directly with technical stakeholders, and ability to work 2:00 PM-11:00 PM IST to provide effective overlap with U.S.-based teams.

Ability to independently manage assigned tasks and drive technical issues through resolution.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or other Infrastructure-as-Code technologies.

Experience supporting Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Data Lake, Power BI, or other Azure data platforms from an infrastructure perspective.

Experience with hybrid connectivity between Azure and on-premises environments.

Understanding of VPN, ExpressRoute, private DNS, and enterprise network architectures.

Exposure to Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, and cloud security controls.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated infrastructure deployments.

Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent are desirable.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a practical, hands-on engineer rather than a purely advisory cloud architect. The individual should be able to receive a requirement or issue, investigate it, work with the appropriate IT stakeholders, implement or coordinate the solution, validate the result, and document the outcome. Because this person will operate as a dedicated extension of the client's internal IT organization, ownership, responsiveness, communication, and troubleshooting ability are as important as Azure technical knowledge.
