As a Platform Engineer at Torry Harris, you will work alongside experienced team members to help design, build, and maintain infrastructure that supports software development and deployment. This is a great prospect for someone with a foundational understanding of cloud technologies, automation, or DevOps practices to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility as you develop your expertise.

Roles and Responsibilities

Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules/templates (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates) to standardize provisioning across environments.

Assist in designing and building scalable, resilient infrastructure components (networking, load balancers, auto-scaling groups) based on architecture guidelines provided by senior engineers.

Support the setup and configuration of environments (dev, test, staging, production) ensuring consistency and parity across them.





Contribute to building and maintaining internal developer platform (IDP) components, such as self-service provisioning templates or golden paths, to improve developer experience.

Help containerize applications and manage deployments using Docker and Kubernetes, including basic troubleshooting of pod, service, and deployment issues.

Collaborate with development teams to understand application deployment requirements and support environment setup (dev, staging, production).

Help integrate infrastructure provisioning into CI/CD pipelines to enable automated, repeatable environment deployments.

Participate in capacity planning and cost optimization efforts by identifying underutilized resources and suggesting right-sizing options.

Maintain and update technical documentation for infrastructure configurations, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

Support disaster recovery and backup strategy implementation for infrastructure components.

Assist in evaluating and piloting new tools/technologies for infrastructure automation, under the direction of senior team members.

Continuously learn and stay updated on cloud-native tools, DevOps practices, and platform engineering trends.
