Role Description The Automotive Plastic Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Pimpri Chinchwad. This role involves designing and developing plastic components for automotive interiors and exteriors, from concept through to production, in alignment with customer and regulatory requirements.

The engineer will create and validate 3D models and detailed drawings, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and support mould design and manufacturability reviews. Daily responsibilities include refining designs based on feedback,



performing basic tolerance and fit checks, coordinating with suppliers and tooling teams, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards. The engineer will also assist in resolving design issues during prototype build and production launch, and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and best practices.

Qualifications

- Robust proficiency in automotive plastic component design, including interior and exterior trim parts, with hands-on experience using standard CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, V5/V6).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, apply GD&T;, and perform tolerance stack-ups for plastic parts and assemblies.
- Effective collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams (design, tooling, suppliers, and manufacturing) and support on-site customer interactions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple design tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in automotive product development or interior/exterior plastic design is highly beneficial; exposure to OEM or Tier-1 environments is an advantage.
