Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management ICs, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCUs), and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand across automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications, and artificial intelligence markets.

Responsibilities:

Space

RFQ Evaluation & Solution Development

- Review RFQs, drawings, specifications, BOMs, data packages, and customer standards to identify gaps and develop structured clarification lists.
- Define solution architecture, basis of estimate, assumptions, exclusions, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans.

Mechanical Automation Concept Development

- Develop and own mechanical automation concepts including fixtures, end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), material handling systems, robot cell layouts, and automation architecture.
- Ensure solutions comply with ISO 10218 and ISO/TS 15066 safety requirements.

Capacity Planning & Business Case Development

- Develop cycle-time models, resource loading plans, equipment requirements,



tooling needs, NRE estimates, CapEx requirements, lead-time assessments, and implementation milestones.
- Perform payback analysis, maintainability assessments, and scalability evaluations.

Technical Proposal & Costing Support

- Prepare auditable calculations and technical evidence to support compliance matrices, proposal narratives, costing models, and management approval packs.
- Participate in customer reviews, solution reviews, and bid governance activities.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

- Support supplier technical evaluations, quotation assessments, and make-versus-buy decisions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Customers, and Suppliers to ensure solution feasibility and successful execution.

NPI & Execution Readiness

- Define acceptance criteria, validation approaches, and key deliverables required for transferring awarded programs into NPI and production execution.
- Maintain reusable estimation databases, templates, and lessons learned for future bids.

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure adherence to Tata Electronics information security, confidentiality, quality, and document control requirements.

Essential Attributes:

1.



Robust expertise in automation concept development, cycle-time modelling, manufacturability assessment, and equipment selection.
2. Experience in fixture design, EOAT development, robotics integration, material handling systems, and robot cell layout planning.
3. Knowledge of industrial automation safety standards, including ISO 10218 and ISO/TS 15066.
4. Proven experience supporting customer RFQs, technical proposals, NPI programs, or manufacturing industrialization projects within EMS or complex manufacturing environments.
5. Ability to perform CapEx planning, payback analysis, equipment lead-time estimation, and business case evaluations.
6. Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
7. Ability to work effectively with global customers and suppliers across multiple time zones.
8. Willingness to travel for customer workshops, supplier reviews, equipment trials, and program reviews.

Space

Qualifications:

- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, ECE, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or another discipline relevant to the role.
- Postgraduate specialization in Automation, Manufacturing, Robotics, Industrial Engineering, or related fields is preferred.

Desired Experience Level:

- 8-12 years of experience in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Automation, Manufacturing Industrialization, NPI, Robotics, or related functions within EMS, Electronics Manufacturing, or complex manufacturing environments.
