Role Overview The AutoCAD 2D Draftsman will be responsible for preparing precise 2D mechanical drawings and layouts to support engineering and project requirements. The role requires strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to convert mechanical design concepts into clear technical outputs. This role does not involve 3D drafting.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical 2D Drafting: Create 2D mechanical drawings, layouts, and detailed fabrication plans using AutoCAD.
- Design Interpretation: Translate mechanical sketches, specifications, and instructions into accurate technical drawings.
- Project Support: Assist mechanical engineers and project managers with drafting requirements for ongoing projects.
- Documentation: Maintain drawing records, revisions, and ensure compliance with company drafting standards.
- Quality Assurance: Verify accuracy, clarity, and adherence to mechanical drafting standards and project specifications.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting software.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering drawings, symbols, and standards.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Valuable communication and teamwork skills.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Mechanical Draftsman in engineering or manufacturing projects.
- Exposure to fabrication, machining, or manufacturing drawings preferred.
- Freshers are not eligible for this role.
