Role Summary The Assistant Manager Production will be responsible for planning, supervising, and executing production and assembly activities for defence and aerospace products. The role requires strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, engineering drawings, quality standards, and production planning to ensure timely delivery and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day production and assembly activities to meet delivery schedules and quality requirements.
- Interpret and work with engineering drawings, design documents, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
- Coordinate with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Projects teams for smooth execution of manufacturing activities.
- Drive production planning, resource allocation, and process optimization initiatives.
- Monitor production KPIs including productivity, quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
- Ensure adherence to defence and aerospace quality standards, safety protocols, and manufacturing procedures.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead shop-floor teams and provide technical guidance for assembly and integration activities.




- Support new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, and production ramp-up activities.
- Ensure proper maintenance of production records, process documentation, and compliance requirements.

Required Skills
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of production planning, process control, and workflow management.
- Experience in handling shop-floor operations and production teams.
- Familiarity with quality systems, inspection requirements, and manufacturing best practices.
- Valuable problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and production reporting tools.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in Defence, Aerospace, Automotive, Precision Engineering, Heavy Engineering, or High-Mix Manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to assembly of electromechanical systems, structures, or aerospace components.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and production tracking mechanisms.
