Position OverviewAssociate - Placements LeadWe are looking for a proactive, organised, and people-oriented Associate - Placements Lead to drive placement and career outcomes for our Fellowship students.
In this role, you will work closely with students, hiring partners, recruiters, and internal learning & development and operations teams to create relevant job opportunities and support students throughout the placement journey.
The role involves a combination of employer outreach, student engagement, career counselling, placement coordination, and data-driven tracking of outcomes.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced workplace, managing multiple stakeholders, and taking ownership of placement targets and student outcomes.

Employer
Outreach & Job Opportunities
- Identify and engage with companies hiring for entry-level and early-career roles across Product Management, UX Design, Data Analytics, and Software Engineering.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of relevant job opportunities for Fellowship students.
- Reach out to recruiters, hiring managers, founders, and talent acquisition teams to understand their hiring requirements.
- Understand role requirements, candidate expectations, compensation, location, and other hiring criteria.
- Share relevant student profiles with employers and facilitate the hiring process.
2. Employer & Corporate Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective hiring partners.
- Develop a network of organisations that can consistently provide relevant opportunities to NextLeap students.
- Understand changing industry hiring trends and employer expectations.
- Maintain regular communication with hiring partners and identify opportunities for repeat hiring.
- Gather employer feedback on candidate quality and use these insights to improve student preparedness.

Engagement & Career Support
- Guide students through the end-to-end placement journey.
- Support students with resume building, job applications, interview preparation, LinkedIn profiles, portfolios, and job-search strategies.
- Conduct individual and group career counselling sessions.
- Help students identify suitable roles based on their skills, experience, interests, and career goals.
- Motivate and support students throughout the placement process.

Preparation
- Conduct placement orientation sessions for new cohorts.
- Organise workshops on resume building, interview preparation, job search, networking, and professional communication.
- Coordinate mock interviews and other placement-readiness activities.
- Identify common student skill gaps and work with internal teams to address them.

Coordination
- Own the placement process for assigned cohorts from job identification through final selection and joining.
- Coordinate placement drives, interviews, assessments, and other hiring activities.
- Manage communication between students and hiring partners throughout the recruitment process.
- Ensure students receive timely updates regarding job opportunities,
interview schedules, feedback, and selection outcomes.
- Resolve operational issues and ensure a smooth candidate and employer experience.

Targets & Outcomes
- Take ownership of defined placement and hiring targets for assigned cohorts.
- Develop and execute strategies to improve student participation, interview conversions, and placement outcomes.
- Monitor the placement funnel from applications → shortlists → interviews → offers → joining.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement interventions to improve conversion rates.
7. Data & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of student placement activity and employer interactions.
- Track key placement metrics including applications, shortlists, interviews, offers, joining status, and placement rates.
- Prepare regular reports on placement progress and outcomes.
- Use placement data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
8. Feedback & Continuous Improvement
- Regularly collect feedback from students and hiring partners.
- Identify recurring challenges in the placement process.
- Share insights with academic, student success, and leadership teams.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives to continuously improve student employability and placement outcomes.
Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have:
- 2+ years of experience in edtech domain placements, career services, student success, or a related field.
- Experience working with product, technology, design, analytics, or other early-career hiring is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong spoken and written English.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with employers and hiring partners.
- Strong student counselling and stakeholder-management skills.
- Excellent organisational and coordination abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfort working with targets, metrics, and data.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup environment.
