Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Associate role in the Non-Litigation | Banking practice, based in Navi Mumbai. The associate will work on banking and finance transactions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating loan and security documents, facility agreements, and related contractual documentation.

Daily responsibilities include conducting legal and regulatory research, preparing transaction notes and internal briefs, assisting in structuring deals, and coordinating with clients, counterparties, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely closures. The role also involves supporting senior lawyers on due diligence exercises, maintaining accurate documentation and records, and ensuring compliance with applicable banking and finance laws and guidelines.



The associate will be expected to manage multiple matters simultaneously, meet strict timelines, and contribute to knowledge-building initiatives within the practice.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Law with a focus on banking and finance, contract law, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability in legal Research, including statutes, regulations, case law, and industry guidelines.
- Experience with Courts and regulatory bodies in the context of banking and finance, including familiarity with procedures and documentation (non-litigation exposure preferred).
- Understanding of Motions and Depositions concepts, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, written advice and transaction documents.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.), with enrollment in the Bar Council of India; additional specialization in banking/finance law is an advantage.
- Excellent drafting, reviewing, and editing skills for contracts, opinions, and transaction-related documents.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple transactions and deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with clients, counterparties, and internal teams.
- Experience in handling legal matters in a law firm setting
- Prior experience in a banking, finance, or corporate law practice is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated
