About Upyugo

Upyugo is a finance and compliance team of 25, based in Jodhpur and Mumbai and founded in 2021. We work with 200+ businesses across India, the UAE, the UK and the USA: bookkeeping and month-end close, virtual CFO, ERP implementation and finance automation. We build the tools our own work needs, including a GST reconciliation engine that took 90% of the time out of input matching.

The role

This is not a senior hire with a better title. It is a partner track.

You would own a book of clients, a delivery team, and the standard the work is held to. The point is to free the firm's next three years for what we cannot do yet, which only works if someone else owns what we already do well.

You would carry decisions, hire people, be accountable for margin, and occasionally be wrong in public.

What you would own

- A portfolio of client relationships end to end: scope, review, and the difficult conversations
- The delivery standard - how work is prepared, reviewed and released

- The automation agenda - which processes get rebuilt, and with what
- Hiring and developing the people in your teams
- A share of what you build, on terms agreed as the role proves out

Who this is for
- A Chartered Accountant, or someone with equivalent depth, who finds accounting genuinely compelling rather than tolerable
- Someone who has automated a finance process because the manual version annoyed them, not because it was assigned





- Someone already building with AI on their own time, before anyone approves a budget for it
- Someone who wants ownership and will earn it over a few years rather than negotiate it up front

Who this is not for
- Anyone who wants a defined scope and a manager to approve it
- Anyone who wants the title without the accountability
- Anyone who needs to be in Mumbai, or remote.

This role is in Jodhpur, in the room, because that is where the work gets built

Our stack Zoho Books and the Zoho ecosystem, Xero, QuickBooks, TaxCalc, IRIS, Power BI,

Power Query. We build the parts those do not do.
