Role Description The Assistant Merchant role at ZAIN SAFETY is a full-time, in office position based in Kanpur. In this role, the individual supports the merchandising team with product planning, ordering, and inventory tracking for leather goods and safety footwear. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with production and sales teams, preparing purchase orders, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to customers and distributors.

Merchant helps analyze sales data, maintain product catalogs, and assist in pricing and promotion decisions.



The role also involves communication with vendors and internal stakeholders, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

- Strong merchandising and product management skills, including experience with inventory tracking, order processing, and product lifecycle coordination.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, using spreadsheets or ERP systems to review sales trends, stock levels, and product performance.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with production, sales, procurement, and external suppliers.
- Attention to detail and organizational abilities to manage documentation, product specifications, and timelines accurately.
- Basic understanding of leather goods or safety footwear manufacturing processes and quality standards (experience in related industries is an advantage).
- Comfort with on-site work in a manufacturing environment and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and common business software; familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems is a plus.
