Role & responsibilities

- Proper maintenance of all equipments as per schedule.

- Ensuring procurement of materials and proper vendor selection.

- Reviews preventive and planned schedule for maximum availability of equipments towards productivity point of view.

- Coordinates with other production department for planning major maintenance.

- Guides maintenance manager working under him to solve the problem.

- Keeps a close control on maintenance history recording system.

- Ensure maximum availability of equipments for production towards maximum productivity.

Guides the staff for designing/ locating suitable spare parts to minimize proprietary items

- Reviews the daily maintenance report, monthly progress reports relating to his plants.

- Recommends import substitution.

- Recommends capital and revenue budgets.

- Indicates modification work in the plant also.

- Recommends insurance and high budgeted spares.

- Contacts government and statutory authorities as and when required in connection with plant objectives.

- Reviews and advises the safety aspects for secure working of maintenance personnel.

Maintains discipline in plant through his staff.
