Role - Assistant Manager - Operations Excellence & AI Insights

Experience Required: 3 -10 years with 2 - 5 years in AI/technology adoption for most roles and in AI-driven process improvements.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Conduct immersive site visits (mining sites, steel plants, erection projects, pellet facilities, and transport hubs) to observe workflows, listen to frontline teams, and extract root-cause pain points going beyond surface-level issues to uncover inefficiencies in safety, maintenance, supply chain, or resource utilization.
- Analyze real-life operational challenges (e.g., equipment downtime in steel making, delays in transport logistics, or exploration inaccuracies in mining) and map them to feasible AI/technology solutions, such as predictive maintenance via IoT or optimization algorithms sourced/developed by external partners.
- Perform targeted data extraction, cleaning, and visualization from existing systems (IoT sensors, MES, ERP/SAP, SCADA)
- Engage with operations teams through structured interviews, shadowing, and workshops to build trust and elicit unarticulated problems, ensuring recommendations are grounded in practical realities.
- Develop executive dashboards and KPI trackers

Skills & Competencies





- Strong analytical mindset with hands-on exposure to AI/ML applications in operations (e.g., predictive analytics for maintenance or process simulation); familiarity with algorithms like regression, clustering, or computer vision for domain-specific use cases (steel quality inspection, mine mapping).
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and tools like TensorFlow/PyTorch (for prototyping), Spark (for data handling), and visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with real-time data ecosystems (IoT, MES, SCADA, ERP) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for insights generation, not full-scale builds.
- Domain knowledge in at least one of: mining/exploration, steel making/pellet production, engineering erection/projects, or transport/logisticsplus 12 years in AI/technology adoption for process optimization.

Educational Qualification

- B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, AI, Industrial Engineering, Mining/Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.

Travel & Logistics

- Up to 10 days/month in office across Lloyds Group facilities (primarily India-based; occasional international as needed), with company-covered travel, accommodation.
- Balance 15 days/month at HQ for analysis, team collaboration, and reporting.
- The role emphasizes fieldwork (up to 10 days/month traveling to sites, with 15 days/month at HQ for analysis and reporting)
