Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager Maintenance to manage plant maintenance activities and ensure high equipment availability, reliability and operational efficiency. The role will be responsible for preventive and predictive maintenance, breakdown management, TPM, maintenance projects, utilities, team management and continuous improvement in an automotive / auto-component manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery, equipment, utilities and infrastructure.

Ensure high equipment availability and minimise machine breakdowns and downtime.

Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring breakdowns and implement permanent corrective actions.

Drive TPM, OEE, MTBF, MTTR, Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.

Monitor and improve Preventive Maintenance compliance and equipment reliability.

Handle maintenance of production equipment used in automotive / auto-component manufacturing.

Manage plant utilities such as compressors, DG sets, pumps, HVAC, water systems and other critical utilities.

Plan and execute machine installation, commissioning, modification and maintenance improvement projects.

Manage maintenance spares, critical inventory and maintenance costs.

Coordinate with vendors, contractors and equipment suppliers for maintenance services and technical support.





Lead and develop maintenance engineers, technicians and contract manpower.

Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, Projects, Purchase, Stores and other functions for smooth plant operations.

Ensure compliance with EHS, LOTO, work permit and statutory safety requirements.

Monitor maintenance KPIs and prepare reports on breakdowns, MTBF, MTTR, machine availability, PM compliance and maintenance cost.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction, energy saving and equipment reliability improvement.

Preferred candidate profile:

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

810 years of relevant experience in Maintenance, preferably in Automotive / Auto Component Manufacturing.

Strong hands-on experience in plant maintenance and equipment breakdown troubleshooting.

Valuable knowledge of Preventive, Predictive and Condition-Based Maintenance.

Strong exposure to TPM, RCA, Kaizen, OEE, MTBF and MTTR.

Experience in machine installation, commissioning and maintenance projects.

Experience in managing maintenance teams, technicians and contractors.

Knowledge of plant utilities, maintenance spares and cost control.

Working knowledge of ERP / CMMS / Maintenance Management Systems will be an advantage.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication and team-management skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
