Role: Admission Evaluator

As an Admission Evaluator at Plaksha University, you will play a critical role in assessing applications to Plaksha’s flagship undergraduate program, ensuring every candidate is reviewed rigorously, fairly, and consistently. Your key responsibilities will include reviewing applications, transcripts, and essays, conduct structured interviews, and scoring candidates against defined evaluation criteria, while upholding the highest standards of objectivity, attention to detail, and confidentiality.

Location: Mohali

Application Review & Assessment:

- Conduct thorough, unbiased reviews of applications, transcripts, essays, and supporting documents against defined evaluation criteria
- Conduct structured interviews for shortlisted candidates and score responses using standardized rubrics
- Exercise independent judgment while remaining consistent with established evaluation guidelines and benchmarks

Consistency, Calibration & Quality:

- Participate in calibration sessions with fellow evaluators to align on scoring standards and ensure consistency across the panel
- Flag inconsistencies, edge cases, or discrepancies in applications for review by the admissions team
- Apply a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion lens throughout the evaluation process, ensuring fair and equitable outcomes

Documentation & Reporting:

- Maintain accurate and timely evaluation records in the admissions system and relevant trackers
- Provide clear, well-documented qualitative and quantitative feedback to support final selection decisions




- Share evaluation trends and observations with the admissions team to support process improvement

Collaboration & Confidentiality:

- Coordinate with faculty members and fellow evaluators to streamline evaluation-related interactions
- Uphold the highest standards of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality while handling sensitive applicant information
- Support broader admissions cycle activities as needed, including during peak evaluation periods

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, with prior experience in admissions, application evaluation, or educational assessment preferred

Skills:

- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate applications objectively and consistently
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of standard office software, including Microsoft Office, with familiarity in digital communications, spreadsheet, and database tools
- High attention to detail, with the ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive applicant information
- Comfortable working within structured rubrics and evaluation frameworks, while exercising sound independent judgment
- Passion for, understanding of, and commitment to inclusion, diversity, belonging, equity, and accessibility
