Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Maintenance Manager role based in the Pune Division. The role involves supervising maintenance staff, coordinating daily maintenance activities, and ensuring equipment and machinery are operating safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include planning and executing preventive maintenance schedules, monitoring maintenance and repair work, and maintaining accurate records of maintenance operations.

The Assistant Maintenance

Manager will collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. The role also includes assisting in budgeting for maintenance resources, managing spare parts inventory, and reporting maintenance performance to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Press shop electrical maintenance

Maintain press safety systems: light curtains, safety relays, two-hand controls, die-clamping and overload protection.

Support die changeover, die trials and tryout with electrical and automation inputs.

2 . Weld shop electrical maintenance

3. Preventive and predictive maintenance

Prepare and implement PM schedules, checklists and AMC plans.

Carry out thermography, insulation testing, earthing checks and vibration/condition monitoring.

Maintain machine history cards, breakdown logs and MTTR/MTBF records.

4. Breakdown management

Respond quickly to breakdowns, do root cause analysis (5-Why, Fishbone) and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Minimise downtime and track breakdown hours by machine.

5. Plant electrical utilities

Oversee HT/LT panels, transformers, MCC/PCC, APFC, DG sets, UPS, cabling and lighting.

Drive energy conservation and power factor improvement.

6. Safety and statutory compliance

Ensure compliance with the Indian Electricity Rules, CEA regulations,



Factories Act and electrical inspectorate requirements.

Implement LOTO, work permits and electrical safety practices.

Support EHS audits, incident investigations and safety documentation.

7. Team and vendor management

Lead and develop electricians, technicians and contract maintenance staff, including shift planning and skill development.

Manage AMC and service vendors, and control spares inventory and maintenance budget.

8. Continuous improvement

Participate in TPM, Kaizen and 5S initiatives.

Propose retrofits, automation upgrades and poka-yoke solutions.

Support recent machine installation, commissioning and handover.

Qualification

Diploma in Electrical Engineering (DEE) or BE / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

Experience

Minimum 10 years in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing setup

Hands-on experience in press shop and weld shop maintenance is essential

Automotive, auto-component, sheet metal or solar/structural fabrication background preferred

At least 4-5 years in a supervisory or team-leading role
