The Assistant / Field Officer (Sociologist) is responsible for field or on-site implementation of the project in association with the reporting manager and in line with the scientific and technical plan and all administrative and financial requirements of the Project Head (PH).

Key Responsibilities :

- Report to the reporting officer at least twice a week on the progress of the project activity by e-mail/phone.
- Point person for the implementation of the community component (CFC) of the Assam Haathi Project and Mowgli Street Food as per the project plan.
- Following appropriate scientific methodology; collect data, collate data, analyze and prepare periodical reports on the project initiatives (CFC) monthly quarterly, half yearly and annual and submit the same to PH.
- Develop study design, analysis of data and take lead in writing technical reports and develop manuscripts for scientific and popular articles for publication under the guidance of their respective reporting mangers.
- To organize meetings with the local communities for formation of Eco Development Committees (EDC), Fence Management Committees as and when required.
- Organise meetings with the EDCs, Fence Management Committees, Haathi Watchers periodically to ensure the community engagement for functional of the solar fence to reduce HEC.
- Responsible for all field level governmental and partner liaising at appropriate forums and local public relation needs in consultation with the PH.

8)To execute the livelihoods interventions for the fringe villagers to reduce their dependency on forest resources,



monitor the progress of all interventions by using appropriate tools.

- Attend periodical meetings regularly, update the status of activities, lessons learned and submit required reports.
- Submit expenditure statement with bills through FMS of accounts pertaining to the previous month by 5th of the succeeding month including any bills related to the payment made to other parties in the project site.
- Responsible for all field reports, photographic documentation, submission of data sheets etc as per the requirements of the PH.
- Responsible for acting as the on-site representative of WTI (at particular level) and to ensure that the image of WTI as a conservation action organization operating in the field is maintained at all times.
- Responsible for maintenance of all assets of the organization in the area of activity.

Project Planning & Management:

- Give necessary inputs and incorporate new ideas, thoughts and suitable activities during the annual planning process while preparation the annual work plan and mid-term correction of PIP

Fund & Financial Management:





- To utilise fund and execute activities as per the approved PIP in consultation with the PH & DH
- To submit the monthly Muster Roll, expenditure statement and bills in original to H.Q. on timely basis
- To assist the Finance Division by maintaining the financial compliances are adhered in the field as per the approved plan

Donor’s Co-ordination :

- To make sure that relevant quality photos and periodical updates, reports are sent to the PH and DH as per the commitment made to the donor.
- To assist the development team by providing quality photos, footages, draft proposals for submission of new proposals and to maintain the existing relations with partners/ donors

External Communication / Co-ordination:

- Maintain good relationship with concerned Divisional Forest Officers, Range Forest Officers, Local NGOs, academic institutions and intellectuals in the project site within BTC
- To maintain valuable relations with the local media for publications of stories, update from the field

MIS & Reports:

- Responsible for preparation of first draft of activity reports as per the PIP and submission of the same to the Project Head and technical reporting manager for their inputs
- Responsible for maintaining the data base in the field like the baseline survey data, beneficiary lists, various case studies and any such works done from time to time

Any other responsibilities :

- Responsible for maintaining the image and branding of WTI in the project site as field point person
- Attend Bansbari Field Station and Bijni Field Camp during the working days and work in the office when there is no field works planned.
