System Enhancements: Develop and implement new features for billing processes, including rate changes, tax applications, and usage calculations.
Data Processing: Manage data ingestion from other source systems and ensure proper sorting, verification, and formatting of customer account information.
Report Generation: Utilize RPG to generate, analyze, and format complex wholesale customer bills according to BOS (Billing Output Specifications).
Integration; Ensure seamless data exchange between legacy DPI applications and modern web-based viewing tools like Globys.
Migration Support: Develop ICD (Interface Control Document) data mapping to support data extraction for customer migration projects leading up to full system migration.
API Development: Design and build APIs to enable data exchange between legacy DPI systems and modern platforms as part of migration implementation.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for all developed programs and changes.
Required Technical Skills
Languages: Expert-level proficiency in RPG/400, RPG ILE, RPG III,
RPG IV, and RPG Free-format programming.
Platform: Strong experience with IBM i, iSeries/AS400 (OS/400) development environment.
Tools: Experience with CL (Control Language), CLLE (Control Language Licensed Extension), TURNOVER Change Management, DDS (Data Description Specifications), and DB2/4
Other: Proficiency in debugging interactive and batch jobs.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in telecommunications billing, specifically local wholesale or carrier access billing systems.
Experience with SQL integration within RPG applications.
Experience modernizing RPG applications to work with contemporary front ends.
Knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange).
Experience with customer requirements implementation projects leading up to full migration, including:
Migration ICD (Interface Control Document) data mapping for data extraction
