Position Title: Area Collections Manager – Hard Bucket

Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Hard Bucket Collections Manager to join our collections team at Protium Finance Ltd. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the collections process for accounts in hard buckets (typically 90+ days overdue), ensuring that recovery strategies are in place and targets are met.

This role requires an in-depth understanding of collections strategies, leadership skills, and the ability to work with customers and legal teams to ensure the timely recovery of dues.

Key Responsibilities:

- Hard Bucket Management: Oversee the collection process for delinquent accounts that are in the hard bucket (90+ days overdue) and implement strategies for maximizing recovery.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of collectors, ensuring effective training and development, adherence to collection procedures, and performance targets.
- Strategy Development: Design and implement collection strategies for high-risk accounts, ensuring that recovery targets are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Customer Interaction: Directly engage with high-value or sensitive accounts, building strong relationships to negotiate settlements or payment arrangements.
- Legal Coordination: Work closely with legal teams to initiate legal proceedings for accounts that require legal action for recovery.
- Reporting & Analysis:



Monitor and report on the performance of collections, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of recovery efforts and outcomes. Identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Compliance: Ensure that all collections activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- System and Process Improvement: Collaborate with internal teams to enhance collection systems, procedures, and technologies to optimize recovery efficiency.
- Recovery Target Achievement: Set realistic targets for collections performance and ensure that the team meets or exceeds those targets.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

- Experience: 5+ years of experience in hard bucket collections, with at least 2 years in a leadership role in an NBFC or financial institution.
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of collections processes, recovery strategies, legal proceedings (SARFAESI, Arbitration & NI act), and regulatory frameworks related to debt collection.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in managing and motivating a team, driving performance, and managing conflict.
- Communication Skills: Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers, legal professionals, and senior management.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse collection data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet recovery goals.
