Architect Building Plan Scrutiny & CAD Specialist

Qualification:

- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (B.Arch) from a recognized university.

- Registration with the Council of Architecture preferred.

- 3–8 years of experience in architectural design, building plan scrutiny, development permissions, or urban planning-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Scrutinize building plans submitted through the BuildNow system for compliance with applicable building rules, zoning regulations, master plans, and development control regulations.

- Review architectural drawings, site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, setbacks, parking layouts, and other technical documents.

- Verify calculations related to plot area, built-up area, FAR/FSI, setbacks, parking requirements, height restrictions, and other statutory provisions.

- Utilize CAD tools (AutoCAD, DraftSight, or equivalent) for review and validation of submitted drawings.

- Support automation and configuration of drawing scrutiny rules within the BuildNow platform.

- Coordinate with DTCP, ULBs, HMDA, and other stakeholders for resolution of technical scrutiny issues.

- Assist in testing and validation of automated drawing scrutiny modules and workflow enhancements.





- Analyze and resolve technical issues related to drawing uploads, CAD conversions, and scrutiny reports.

- Prepare technical notes, scrutiny observations, compliance reports, and user guidance documents.

- Provide training and support to officials and stakeholders on drawing scrutiny processes and system usage.

- Assist in integration of GIS, Master Plan layers, zoning data, and other spatial datasets with the BuildNow platform.

- Required Skills:

- Solid understanding of building regulations, development control rules, and approval processes.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD/BIM tools.

- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

- Knowledge of online building permission systems and automated scrutiny processes.

- Familiarity with GIS concepts and spatial data is desirable.

- Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Preferred Experience:

- Experience with DTCP/HMDA/GHMC/TS-bPASS/TG-bPASS or similar building permission systems.

- Experience in automated drawing scrutiny software and e-governance projects.

- Knowledge of urban planning and development permission workflows.
