The role The APR Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end administration, validation, and processing of all Annual Pay Review (APR) transactions within Workday. This role ensures accurate and timely execution of compensation-related changes, including merit increases, annual bonuses, Management Share Plan (MSP) awards, and other compensation adjustments.
The position serves as a key operational partner to Global Rewards, HR Operations, HR Business Partners, Payroll, and Finance teams to deliver a compliant, efficient, and seamless annual compensation cycle. The role also manages bonus eligibility corrections, AIB (Absence Ineligible for Bonus) processing, offline APR transactions, exception handling, and post-cycle/late compensation changes.
What You'll Be Responsible For APR Compensation Processing
- Execute annual compensation review transactions in Workday, including:
- Merit increases
- Annual bonus awards
- MSP awards and adjustments
- Salary corrections
- Promotion-related compensation changes during the APR cycle
- Special compensation adjustments approved through governance processes
- Validate compensation data before processing to ensure:
- Budget compliance
- Approval completion
- Data accuracy
- Alignment with APR guidelines and policy
- Monitor compensation transactions through completion and resolve processing errors.
- Ensure all APR transactions are completed within established timelines and service level agreements (SLAs).
Workday Compensation Administration
- Process compensation changes accurately in Workday.
- Troubleshoot Workday compensation transaction issues and partner with HRIS teams where required.
- Perform data audits and validations before and after APR processing.
- Maintain accurate employee compensation records.
- Support testing activities for annual APR system configurations and enhancements.
AIB (Absence Ineligible for Bonus) Administration
- Manage the AIB (Absence Ineligible for Bonus) process for employees whose bonus eligibility is impacted by absence rules.
- Review and validate employee absence data against compensation policies.
- Coordinate with HR Operations, Payroll, and HR Business Partners to confirm eligibility outcomes.
- Process bonus eligibility adjustments and corrections in Workday.
- Maintain documentation and audit trails for all AIB decisions and transactions.
- Ensure compliance with local and global compensation guidelines.
Offline APR Process Management
- Manage the end-to-end offline APR process for employees excluded from the standard online Workday APR cycle due to various business or system-related reasons.
- Identify and validate employees requiring offline processing across applicable markets.
- Generate and analyze Workday APR reports, including:
- Bonus reports
- Merit reports
- MSP reports
- Consolidate employee data and compensation recommendations into market-specific offline APR templates and forms.
- Coordinate directly with Line Managers (LMs) to obtain compensation proposals for affected employees who were unable to receive proposals through the standard Workday APR process during the manager submission window.
- Communicate proactively with Line Managers via email, ensuring relevant HR Business Partners (HRBPs) are copied to maintain visibility and alignment throughout the process.
- Collect, review, and validate manager compensation proposals related to:
- Merit increases
- Annual bonus awards
- MSP recommendations
- Follow up with managers and HRBPs to ensure timely completion of proposals within established deadlines.
- Consolidate and prepare final market-level offline APR files for submission to the Global Rewards team.
- Partner with Global Rewards to facilitate the final review and processing of approved offline APR transactions.
- Maintain comprehensive tracking, documentation, and audit records for all offline APR cases and submissions.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency between offline submissions and final approved compensation outcomes.
Late Change Management
- Process late compensation changes received after APR submission deadlines.
- Review and validate required approvals and business justifications.
- Execute approved late changes in Workday.
- Maintain tracking and reporting of all late submissions.
- Escalate non-compliant requests according to APR governance procedures.
Data Validation & Quality Assurance
- Conduct pre-cycle and post-cycle compensation audits.
- Identify and resolve compensation discrepancies.
- Perform reconciliation between Workday, compensation planning tools, payroll systems, and reporting outputs.
- Support controls designed to ensure data integrity and process compliance.
- Prepare quality assurance reports and exception summaries.
Stakeholder Support
- Act as a subject matter expert for APR operational processes.
- Provide guidance to HR Business Partners, Reward teams, and Line Managers on APR transaction requirements.
- Respond to compensation cycle inquiries and issue escalations.
- Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate compensation implementation.
- Support communications related to APR processing activities.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with company compensation policies and governance requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee compensation information.
- Support internal and external audits related to APR activities.
- Document process changes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and controls.
- Adhere to all relevant legal, regulatory, and data privacy requirements.

We're Looking For Someone Who Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources,
Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in Compensation Operations, HR Operations, Global Rewards, or HR Shared Services.
- Experience working with annual compensation review cycles.
- Hands-on experience with Workday Compensation.
- Experience managing compensation data and employee transactions.
- Exposure to global compensation processes preferred.
