Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for RESTful and SOAP APIs using industry-standard tools (e.g., Rest Assured, ReadyAPI, Postman, or custom frameworks).

- Implement data-driven and keyword-driven testing frameworks to support scalable test execution across multiple environments (Dev, QA, Staging, Prod).

- Collaborate with development teams to automate API testing during sprint cycles, supporting in-sprint automation and shift-left testing.

- Integrate automated API tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo) with auto-triggered execution and real-time reporting.

- Develop negative test scenarios, edge-case validations, and security checks (e.g., authentication, rate limiting, input validation).

- Generate detailed, actionable test reports using tools like Extent Reports, HTML Reports, or custom Excel/Power BI dashboards.

- Contribute to test data generation automation using API-driven or service-based approaches (e.g., TDH, Service APIs).

- Perform regression, smoke, and integration testing at API level to ensure system stability across releases.

- Participate in failure analysis and root cause identification; partner with developers to resolve issues proactively.

- Support test environment management,



including mock services, API stubbing, and environment configuration.

- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation best practices across the testing team.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in API test automation, preferably in high-volume, enterprise environments (travel, aviation, BFSI, or e-commerce).

- Solid expertise in RESTful API testing using Rest Assured, Postman, or equivalent.

- Proficiency in Java or Python for scripting and framework development.

- Experience with test frameworks: JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber (BDD).

- Solid understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, JSON/XML, headers, authentication (OAuth, JWT, API keys).

- Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, UDeploy.

- Familiarity with version control: Git, GitHub/GitLab.

- Experience with test reporting tools: Extent Reports, Allure, or custom reporting solutions.

- Knowledge of API contract testing (e.g., Pact) and mock services (e.g., WireMock) is a plus.

- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker) is preferred.

- Understanding of agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in sprint-based delivery
