Position Overview The API Automation Tester will join the ITG – Personal Investors IT team (PI Germany) at BNP Paribas India Solutions, Chennai. The role is responsible for automating and maintaining artefacts and regression tests for mobile, web, and API‑driven applications across the Personal Investors business line. The tester will design, develop, and execute automated API tests, collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders, and ensure high‑quality software delivery.

Job Responsibilities

- Develop, execute, and maintain automation test scripts using Selenium, Cucumber, and API‑testing tools, following the enterprise Automation Framework.
- Perform manual testing when needed, creating and maintaining test sets.
- Configure and run CI/CD jobs in GitLab, incorporating Nexus for artifact management.
- Assess automation feasibility for functional test cases and provide status updates to the Test Lead/Test Manager and the project team.
- Offer technical assistance to fellow Automation Engineers on the enterprise framework.
- Work collaboratively with QA, development, and other project members in an agile setting.

Required Education, Skills, AND Experience (MUST‑HAVE)

- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent).
- Minimum 7 years of IT software QA/testing experience, with a strong focus on Selenium.
- At least 7 years of hands‑on API test‑automation experience.




- Minimum 7 years of experience in the BFSI domain (personal finance or lending experience is a plus).
- Proficient in Java and automation scripting for web, API, and mobile tools (Selenium, Appium, Cucumber).
- Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and artifact repositories (Nexus).
- Mandatory competence in JIRA‑XRay for test management.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Education, Skills, AND Experience (NICE‑TO‑HAVE)

- Direct experience with personal finance or lending applications within the BFSI sector.
- Advanced knowledge of mobile‑automation frameworks (e.g., Appium) beyond basic usage.
- Exposure to additional test‑automation tools or languages (e.g., RestAssured, Postman, Python).
- Certifications in test automation, Java development, or agile methodologies.
- Experience working in a fully remote or distributed delivery model.
